Job description

Are you an experienced Conveyancer looking to take ownership of the entire property journey, from initial land acquisition through to handing over keys on new build plots? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing residential development team and play a pivotal role in bringing large-scale housing projects to life.

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid considered)

Salary: Up to £40,000 + benefits

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

Our client, a leading name in the residential property sector, is seeking a talented Conveyancer with strong experience handling a conveyancing caseload independently. You will be responsible for overseeing transactions from instruction through to completion, working closely with developers, land teams and buyers to ensure a seamless legal process on new build plots and residential developments.

This position offers exposure to both freehold and leasehold transactions, unregistered titles, part-exchange properties, and plot sales. While specific new build or plot conveyancing experience is beneficial, it is not essential – we welcome experienced conveyancers looking to develop their expertise in this area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of conveyancing matters from land acquisition, title investigation and development planning through to final plot sales

  • Draft and issue contracts, deal with pre-contract enquiries and prepare completion statements

  • Review title documents, searches and reports, advising clients on risks and obligations

  • Liaise with developers, buyers, lenders and stakeholders to ensure timely exchange and completion

  • Handle all post-completion matters including SDLT submissions and Land Registry registrations

  • Maintain an efficient caseload in line with target turnaround times

About You

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in residential conveyancing (new build or plot sales experience advantageous but not required)

  • Able to run a caseload autonomously from instruction to completion

  • Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold transactions

  • Excellent communication and client relationship-building skills

  • Highly organised, detail-focused and commercially aware

  • Proactive approach with the ability to manage competing deadlines

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £40,000 DOE

  • Opportunity to specialise in a thriving niche within residential property

  • Supportive team culture within a rapidly growing division

  • Career development prospects and exposure to major UK housebuilders
