Job description
In-House Lawyer | Birmingham / Worcester | Hybrid Working
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced legal professional to move into an in-house position with a well-regarded professional services organisation.
This role would particularly suit a Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced fee earner currently working in private practice who is seeking a transition away from fee-earning and into a broader advisory, risk and stakeholder-focused environment.
Working closely with senior legal professionals and leadership teams, the successful candidate will take ownership of complex complaints and client care matters, ensuring issues are managed effectively, sensitively and in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and resolving complex complaints and conduct matters
Liaising with the Legal Ombudsman on escalated cases
Advising senior stakeholders on risk, compliance and regulatory considerations
Supporting continuous improvement across complaints handling processes
Producing reporting and trend analysis for senior management
Supervising and mentoring junior team members
The organisation is seeking an individual with:
Experience handling complaints, claims, regulatory or client care matters within a legal or professional services environment
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Excellent judgement, emotional intelligence and attention to detail
The ability to manage sensitive and potentially challenging matters professionally and commercially
This position offers the opportunity to develop a genuine in-house career whilst remaining closely connected to the legal sector and working alongside experienced senior professionals.
The role offers hybrid working with offices in Birmingham and Worcester, together with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
